Affiliate disclosure
Some links on this site earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Commission never decides what appears here, in what order, or what is said about it. Any page with such links says so above the first one.
The plain version
Some links on this site earn a commission if you buy through them. It costs you nothing extra.
Any page carrying one says so above the first link, not in a footnote at the bottom. If you have scrolled past a recommendation without seeing a disclosure, that is a mistake and I want to know.
What the commission does not do
This is the part that matters, and the reason this page exists in a form longer than one line.
- It does not decide what gets covered. Pages are chosen by what people are actually searching for, not by what pays.
- It does not decide the order. A tool does not rank higher for paying more, and no tool can pay to rank at all.
- It does not soften the criticism. Every product page names what the tool is bad at and who should not buy it. If I can’t write that section honestly, the page doesn’t get written.
- It does not change the price you pay.
What I turn down
I don’t accept payment to publish an article, a guest post, or a link. Nobody buys placement here.
I also don’t promote products that exclude US traders, because most of this audience is in the US and a commission on something you can’t legally use is worth nothing to either of us.
Why you should be sceptical anyway
You should not take my word for any of the above — you should assume anyone recommending a paid product has an interest in you buying it, because they usually do.
The check available to you is whether the criticism is real. If a review reads like it was written to sell, it probably was. Mine try not to, and where I fall short of that, telling me in a comment is the fastest fix.
